Rozalia, aka Aya, began drawing from a very young age, under the mentorship of her father, renowned muralist, Reynaldo Hernandez. She earned her Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art. Her work as an artist includes indoor and outdoor murals in the Milwaukee area, being a professional caricaturist for over 20 years in the Wisconsin and Illinois area, and illustrator of the children's book, "I am a girl of color," with author Deanna Singh.
Rozalia's mural work has been featured in Milwaukee Life-style Magazine, The Milwaukee Journal, Channel 58, The Milwaukee News Service, Urban Milwaukee and The Milwaukee Independent. Rozalia states "My personal work is a reflection of my experiences as a women of color and as a mother. The nature aspect of my work is rooted in my ancestral connection to life and creation. I seek to promote diversity and growth in the community. I continue to evolve and develop my creativity. Art for me is not just an outlet, its my passion."
