The month of March is designated nationally as Youth Art Month. Are you celebrating your visual art program with activities during this month? Consider ways you can put a spot light on your program especially in March. Watch this page for updates on the many Wisconsin opportunities to participate in Youth Art Month Activities.
Youth Art Month Highlights art activities throughout the school year and culminates in two exciting activities. The first is the Flag & Banner Program. To promote Youth Art Month, The Council for Art Education coordinates Youth Art Month activities at the national level. The primary event is the State Flag Program. Using the national or state theme, each state coordinates a flag design contest, with the winning design made into a flag for display in the Youth Art Month Museum at the National Art Education Association Convention (NAEA). The second component is the Artwork Display Program. Student artwork is displayed at the WAEA regional art shows with the winning pieces moving on to the State Capitol Art Show in Madison, WI.
To learn more about What Youth Art Month Is Click here. Tiffany Beltz is the Youth Art Month Chair for WAEA and can be contacted at waeapresident@gmail.com To see details from last year's events click here. Youth Art Month Endorsement forms are also available. These can be signed by administrators and school board members. Endorsement forms show that school board members, administrators, city leaders and state leaders and legislatures value Art Education. It is simply an "I support Art education in Wisconsin" statement when they sign it. We use it as publicity that we have a strong backing for our Art Education programs in Wisconsin.
Please fill them out and send to Tiffany Beltz 1441 Redfield Street La Crosse, WI 54601 Send before March 1, 2018. Click the button below for the form. |
