How Can Your Students Become More Ivolved? More Connected?
Check out these Fantastic Opportunities!

Visual Arts Classic (VAC)

Picture
The Visual Arts Classic (VAC) is a competition for art students in grades 9-12.  It features 11 studio categories and an annually changing theme for the year.  Students are involved in in-depth research on the 12 selected artists whose work relates to the theme.  Scores are earned both individually and as a team.  Students have the opportunity to create artwork in response to a prompt as a “long-term” project.  Students also participate in a challenge to create artwork in response to a prompt as an “on-site” project.

Youth Art Month (YAM)

Youth Art Month or YAM is a Nationally recognized event held every March with special focus on arts education programs.  It has a pre K -12 focus and can also be extended to adult education programs.  There are many ways to participate and celebrate YAM.  You can get involved in the Regional or State competitions with your student artists, you can design flags that may be chosen for display at the National Art Education Association conference or you can invent your own way to celebrate.

Visioneer Design Challenge

Picture
The Visioneer Design Challenge is a unique, one-of-a kind, statewide learning program and competition for middle school and high school students interested in design arts and connecting with professional designers.  Challenges have been developed by professional designers who currently work and have careers in current design fields. These challenges cover design in everyday things, design of spaces and places, design for communication and information and design for human interaction. This program may connect directly your school district’s goal of preparing students for post-secondary readiness.
