Sherry L. Zei age 67, of Almond passed away after a valiant 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. Sherry passed away with her husband at her side, at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield Thursday evening March 31, 2016.

A celebration of life service for Sherry will be held this summer and will be announced at a later date. Memorials can be sent to Joe at 8335 5th Ave. Almond, WI 54909.

Sherry was born October 23, 1948 in Norwich, NY, the daughter of William and Florence (Nelson) Finney, as a child her family moved to Crivitz, WI. Sherry graduated from Crivitz High School in 1966. She was very involved in Crizitz and participated in dance, music, swimming, ice skating, and was a member of her families, "Crivitz Ski Cats" performing show. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Art Education from UWSP in 1970. Sherry began her career teaching elementary school in Two Rivers from 1970-75. Sherry married Joseph Zei on June 21, 1975 in Crivitz. The couple settled in Stevens Point, before building a log home in Almond and moving there in 1980. Sherry began teaching in 1975 in Wisconsin Rapids, first at the junior high and the last 20 years at Lincoln High School, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed traveling to conventions and exhibits with her fellow art teachers and friends. Sherry loved life and was always positive, rooting for the "underdog". She loved to travel with Joe, enjoyed all of what nature had to offer, and was a high spirited individual who always gave people the benefit of the doubt.

Sherry is survived by her husband Joseph, Almond. Her mother: Florence Finney, Crivitz; 2 brothers: Michael Finney, Green Bay and Mark (Kris) Finney, Minneapolis. Her sister Sue (Bernie) Rocheleau, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her father.
