Greetings Arts Education Friends!
Happy Fall In Wisconsin. I see the leaves starting to turn already. Here is the Wisconsin DPI Fine Arts and Creativity Education Newsletter link for the current and past issues. Please distribute this resource to your colleagues. Your ideas for future newsletters are needed. Submit your feedback within the Newsletter Feedback Survey. Student Learning Objectives – Arts Sharing Online – In your work constructing your SLO, consider getting feedback from “Critical Friends.” I have created an online site where you can both share your SLO and offer feedback as a “Critical Friend” to your colleagues about their SLO. Contributions to the site are anonymous. To participate: · Simply click the link - Student Learning Objectives - Arts Sharing page · Share your SLO on a new row. · Share your feedback as a “Critical Friend” to someone else’s SLO. · Come back later to the document to see what feedback you received for your SLO. As always, feel free to contact me about your work constructing your SLO. We can brainstorm about this work. Forward news and classroom highlights to one of the links below: · Kudos- news of honors, events, and special arts awards · From the Field- classroom strategy sharing · Creative Classrooms – Innovative strategies and/or resource use in teaching (Encouragement for any content to submit news.) Throughout the year, connect with colleagues across the state by joining a WI DPI Fine Arts Education Google Community. Click on the link to visit and join the community of your choice. Additional learning opportunities for educators are available within the WI DPI Fine Arts Professional Development website. For those who are considering attending one of the statewide arts education conferences, a letter to share with your district is available for your use. Also check the site subpage, Professional Learning Community, which has multiple arts education topics to investigate individually or within a group. If your district is seeking professional development options for arts educators, please share with them the face to face sessions or online networking available through the WI DPI. I am coordinating my fall and winter schedule now for visits and sessions. I have facilitated sessions for disciplinary literacy in the arts, arts assessment, WI DPI arts resource reviews, and student learning objectives writing workshops. Dates fill up fast, so please contact me with your questions and ideas for a visit and arts education sessions for 2016-17. Have a great start of the school year. -Julie Julie A.
