Minnetonka Center for the Arts in conjunction with the NAEA convention planned an awesome “Day at the Art Center” as a pre-convention offering. The classes are with some of our top instructors and many feature great techniques and art processes that you can bring into the classroom—not to mention that you will have a great time making art!
There are a variety of mediums available:
- Watercolor
- Water-soluble oil painting
- Sculptural forms (perfect for teaching 3-D standards)
- Multi-media and collage
- iPhone photography
- Printmaking
- Ceramics (hand building and wheel throwing)
- Kumhimo braiding basics and with beads
Truly something for everyone! Our instructors are open to talking about their teaching methods and materials, including, for example, tips on running a ceramic studio or how to start a printmaking club.
Unfortunately, even though there were a number of registrations, the convention didn’t feel they could cover the cost of the transportation with their initial registration numbers and canceled their involvement. But we are not giving up!
We have a fantastic day planned and are opening it up to a wider audience. These workshops are open to convention-goers, teachers, teacher wannabes, and art enthusiasts.
All materials are included in the cost, so all you have to do is register and show up!
Attached is a PDF giving program details. You can also view this information online, as well as be directed to online registration. Any questions, or to register by phone, you can call our Registrars at 952-473-7361 x. 160.
