Stacey Hein is a 2010 graduate from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in Art Education and Ceramics. For 6 years Stacey taught K-6 at Oakfield Elementary. For the past 4 years, Stacey has been teaching grades 6-12 at Markesan Middle/High School -- which is also her hometown district. Her high school courses are typically filled with Ceramics and Glass Art, which are areas of interest for her students. This past month, Ceramic 3 students worked on a raku firing. Students created masks, lanterns and tiles with the opportunity to use the more traditional raku glazes or to use horse hair. Students spent an entire day firing their creations! Beyond the art room, Stacey has been an active member with the Wisconsin Art Education Association by attending and presenting at many conferences, creating artwork in her studio "Salemville Studios" where she focuses on ceramic works that incorporate a variety of textures, and collaborating with fellow artists several times a year to work on her personal art skills. |
