Dan will present the process for fusing glass pieces that he uses with his middle school students from start to finish. This can be brought into the elementary grades and high school. You will see the materials he uses, the firing process in a standard kiln, examples of finished student work, and the "how-to's" that he has developed through trial and error.
10:00-11:30 Workshop # 2 What is Cold Wax Art All About?~Melissa Clay (Everest HS)
See what this medium can do! Although cold wax painting is similar to encaustic, it’s much easier and safer to use in the classroom. This hands-on workshop will show you how to use cold wax to build up textural effects and layers on a canvas board. You will leave with new ideas to implement into your classroom.

12:00-1:45 Workshop #3 Mosaic’n Me Crazy~Suzanne Imhoff (St Croix Falls HS)
In this session, you will learn the basics of making mosaics with glass and the ease of doing this with students in grades 5-12. You will learn a new mosaic process, create and grout one of your own, and have a complete project in only 90 minutes! You will also leave with a materials list, a lesson plan or two, and rubric that can be easily adjusted to fit your needs.
