About Mandy Culver

Mandy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009. She is in her eleventh year of teaching 4K-5th grade art in the Northern Ozaukee School District.

Before teaching in a school setting, Mandy worked with the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Kohl’s Color Wheels traveling to Milwaukee area festivals for family art activities. She has also given private art lessons. In recent years, Mandy has enjoyed getting more involved with WAEA, collaborating with art educators across the US, and finding her own passion and artistic style in her watercolor paintings. You can find Mandy on Instagram at @thecolorfulartteacher !

Mandy aspires to help students find their artistic voice through making their own choices, communicating that mistakes are okay and sometimes helpful, and feeling comfortable talking about their art. She helps her students recognize the power art can have. Mandy was fortunate to have a middle school teacher, Deb Carlson, that did all of those things for her and she is forever grateful to have had her as a friend and mentor.

Mandy currently resides in Grafton, Wisconsin with her husband, also an elementary educator, and her two children, Mabel and Crosby.
