WI DPI Announces Changes to Licensure

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is considering a number of changes to licensure rules.  There are many ideas including:
  • Starting January 1, 2018, allowing Initial and Professional Educators to use professional growth goals and work in Educator Effectiveness as another option to renew or advance their license.
This change puts emphasis on professional development of all kinds and makes our WAEA fall conference worth every penny! Come to the fall conference it just makes "cents" !  For more details on the changes proposed by DPI see the link below.

WAEA Hosts Central Wisconsin Invasion

We all know that teachers don't really have the whole summer off.  One of our favorite things to do while we work in the summer is to refuel our creative tanks. The best way to do this is to join like-minded artist educators and work hands on to learn new techniques and build on our knowledge.  Click here to learn more about the WAEA sponsored summer workshop hosted in Wisconsin Rapids.
Do you know an art educator who has been especially "rockin' it" this past month?  If so consider nominating them to be featured here and on all our social media sites as WAEA Art Educator of the Month!  Download the PDF here for more details.
