NAEA Needs Your HelpNAEA is looking for the following from its members:
During this unprecedented time, as art educators we are faced with the creative challenge of a transition to, and teaching in, a remote online learning environment. As the social media editors for Art Education, we would love to see and share how you have tackled this. In the upcoming weeks, in addition to highlighting articles in our current monthly issue and in our archives that speak to these ideas on our Instagram and Facebook feeds, we would love to feature visuals from you. We would like to hear from you! Share with us your new teaching reality: it can a photograph of your new setup, some tips and innovative ways to teach art through a camera, an idea, or just the artwork your students have been creating. Please include a description of what the photo shows and a credit for the image. We will select and post images throughout the end of the school year. Members can submit to the following email: artedjournalsocial@gmail.com Or they can send a google folder with images and credit information. CoVid19 Uncertain Times Call for Art Educators to UNITE We're Here for YOU!!!
There has been an outpouring of support from educators regarding the closure of schools and the need to start teaching online and virtually. Many have had to learn some new skills in a very short period of time. We've had to check our emotions and just carry on. Here are some of the many online conferences you can choose to join and help gain support, camaraderie with your colleagues and learn new skills.
Tim Needles has organized a bunch of my AWESOME National Art Education Association colleagues. Hoping you'll join us live or watch the recordings. #NAEA20 Click the Google Link for the Daily Schedule.
Speakers will be publishing join messages via social media using the hashtag #naea20 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r1J2PPuImSNZ3QMINkesN-E6jPkfdTdwRKmW7a-VOTI/edit#gid=0 In these uncertain times we understand you might be feeling slightly unsettled and out of sorts. Our team at Nasco Art Education is feeling the exact same way. And, because we know it's difficult right now to come together and collectively share our love of art, we decided to bring our love of art straight to you!
We hope you'll join us on Friday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we go LIVE with some very special guests. We'll discuss how teachers, such as yourself, are dealing with the current crisis situation, and we'll explore other important topics, such as the benefits of Adaptive Art and the importance of the A in STEAM. We'll also have some fun with Mrs. Jeanne as she shows us her Painted Paper lesson, and you'll see a special Class Acts with Kris interview with Wisconsin Art Education Association President and All-Around Cool Art Teacher, Devon Calvert. PLUS, we'll be showing you some of our favorite lesson plans, too! Sign up now and tune in! Let's laugh, have fun, and remember how creativity connects us all—even in crazy times like these. Stay healthy out there, friends, we hope to see you soon!
