Anna S. McNeilAfter graduating from Menomonie High School in 1959, Ann attended University of Wisconsin – Superior, majoring in Art Education, with a minor in Sociology. She graduated in 1963. Her first teaching position was with the Milwaukee Public Schools at Walker Middle School for 2 years. In the fall of 1967 she began teaching at Marshall Public Schools art program staying there for the next 35 years until retiring in June of 2005.
In between times, Ann pursued graduate work at UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater and St. Norbert College Young Artist Workshop. She helped develop Art and Design curriculum. During her teaching career, she was an active member serving in many positions for WAEA, WEAC and her regional Uniserv. In 1977, she received a Youth Art Month Award of Excellence. In retirement, she held three terms on the WEA-Retired PR committee. As a UW-S alum, Ann helped in fundraising and Silent Auction receiving a Service Award in 2013. |
